Omg! Watch the Hilarious Dance That Got This Prison Officer Suspended After it Went Viral (Video)

 

 

A prison officer has been suspended after a video of him dancing while a parade went on became an online sensation .

 

The officer - identified only as Shankaran, 58, by local media was performing for cheering colleagues in a room in Chennai, southern India, while they were waiting to take part in a parade.

 

But his bizarre twisting and turning went viral all over India within hours, triggering an official inquiry into his antics.

 

Shankaran and his workmates from the Salem Central Prison, in Tamil Nadu State, had been due to join the parade in Chennai, as part of India's Republic Day celebrations.

 

The video was widely circulated on YouTube, WhatsApp and Facebook, turning the prison officer into an overnight star.

 

But the impromptu dance session has led to the jailer's suspension over claims that he brought the prison service into disrepute. Investigators are also examining claims that emerged following his brush with fame that he often forced inmates to cut his hair and give him massages.

 

Prison Governor M Senthil Kumar told local media: "I can confirm that this officer has been served with a notice of suspension."
