What Do You Want Two Unarmed Officers To Do - Police Spokesperson, Hundeyin, Responds After Police Officers Were Slammed For Looking On While Thugs Attacked Polling Unit

The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, has reacted to the backlash that trailed a video where political thugs disrupted a polling unit and police officers did nothing to stop them.

In the video, the thugs stormed the polling units, upturned the ballot boxes, and engaged the residents of the area who kicked against their action. Two police officers stood by as it happened.

Responding to the backlash received by the police following the lukewarm attitude of the two officers while the thugs operated, Hundeyin asked what people expect the unarmed officers to do in such a scenario.

He stated that political parties agreed before the election that officers in any polling unit must not be armed so that they do not scare voters away.
