Thugs In Military Camouflage Collected Ballot Papers, Destroyed BVAS – Natasha Akpoti

Speaking to Channels Television during an interview, Akpoti-Uduaghan corroborated the reports, accusing the All Progressives Congress (APC) led state government of hiring the thugs.

 
Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Kogi central has narrated how thugs in military camouflage invaded some polling units on Saturday.
 
According to her, the armed thugs snatched ballot boxes, took away election materials, and dispersed voters in several areas in Kogi State, including in Anyigba Dekina towns.
 
Speaking to Channels Television during an interview, Akpoti-Uduaghan corroborated the reports, accusing the All Progressives Congress (APC) led state government of hiring the thugs.
 
The PDP candidate also narrated how the thugs tried abducting an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after destroying the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine.

“We experienced a lot of attacks from the APC thugs, they carried machetes, guns. Those that carried guns wore military uniforms but you can tell that they are not genuine military,” she stated.

“They collected ballot papers, seized the BVAS, destroyed a lot. They even tried to abduct an INEC official.”
 
Natasha-Akpoti also noted that ‘hundreds of polling units’ were destroyed by the hoodlums in Okehi and Okene Local Government Areas of the North-Central State.

“Pretty much, we were leading and wherever they found we were leading extremely, they had to destroy the boxes.

“What happened is, at some instance, the soldiers moved swiftly and intercepted them requesting for their identification cards to show that they are actually members of the Force,” she added.
