The train was coming from Agege and met a BRT vehicle with the Lagos state government workers on board crossing the rail to link Ikeja GRA
The accident has caused a gridlock on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway for motorists coming from Oshodi around Shogunle to Ikeja-Along.
It was learned that the BTR bus was trying to cross the rail, while the train was close by in motion. The magnet on the train grabbed it from the PWD bus stop and dragged it to Shogunle where it stopped.
According to Vanguard, eyewitnesses revealed that the driver of the bus refused to stop at the level Crossing when stopped.
An eyewitness identified as Babs while speaking on the accident said the keepers of NRC at that level Crossing stopped the driver from passing because of the incoming train but he refused.
According to Babs, the driver of the BRT bus thought he could pass before the coming of the train.
