Nigeria's electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has made a confirmation about the dates it would issue Certificates of Return to Governors-elect.
The commission took the decision following a meeting on March 25, 2023, which is one week after the gubernatorial elections were conducted around the country.
INEC is mandated by the constitution to issue the Certificate of Return within 14 days.
The electoral body has now fixed March 29, Thursday, March 30 and Friday, March 31 for the presentation, which will take place at their offices in each state.
Specific dates for the issuance of the certificates will be communicated to those elected by the Resident Electoral Commissioners and Administrative Secretaries of the various states.
Twenty-six Governors-elect have been announced so far.
