Man United's Robin Van Persie Too Expensive For Galatasaray

Posted by Lolade on Thu 18th Jun, 2015 - tori.ng

Turkish club, Galatasaray has dropped interest for Manchester United's Robin Van Persie because of the high price tag on the player.

Galatasaray boss Hamza Hamzaoglu has said the club cannot afford to Manchester United's Robin van Persie.

The Turkish club had been linked with a move for Van Persie, whose future at United remains uncertain, despite the anticipated cost of signing the Netherlands international.

Hamzaoglu had told Fanatik earlier this week: "We want to add a star to our squad who will make the fans happy and take the team a step forward.

"Van Persie is not someone managers can say 'no' to, but the budget is important. We hope we can agree a reasonable price. We will give it as much time as we can."

However, Hamzaoglu has since said the 31-year-old is no longer a target for the Turkish Super Lig champions.

"Robin van Persie is not on our agenda," Spor 3 quotes him as saying. "The costs are very high. This year, we will be a little more careful."
