Gunmen Leave Murder Note After Killing Egba Chief

An Egba Chief, Moses Oyebade has been murdered in his home at Ago-Oba area of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State.

According to The Nation, Oyebade who recently marked his 75th birthday was shot dead through his window by gunmen who invaded his home around 12am of Wednesday, June 17 leaving behind, a murder note.

It was gathered that the slain chief who until his death was the Olowu of Ikanna, was the alone at the time his assailants struck.

While confirming the murder and the note left behind, the Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the victim was killed by gunmen who broke in through his window.

 “We have examined the place and recovered assassination note which contained a message written in both English and Yoruba languages. The content read 'useless man, Oni dokudo', which translates to 'promiscuous' in English", Adejobi said.

The police have began a preliminary investigation into the case in order to find, arrest and prosecute the perpetrators.
