Sharing an update on Instagram on Friday, Baci revealed that she personally washed the six-metre-wide pot with a branded detergent before the event began.
A video of celebrity chef, Hilda Baci washing the massive pot for her jollof rice Guinness World Record record attempt at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos has gone rival.
She took to her Instagram page to share an update on Friday.
“Yes, I can officially confirm this pot is squeaky clean! I personally rolled up my sleeves and washed it myself,” she wrote, tagging the detergent brand.
She added that the pot would soon be used to create “thousands of servings of Nigerian Jollof history in the making.”
A video posted alongside the message showed Baci standing inside the giant custom-made pot, scrubbing its interior.
“I know you’re probably shocked right now — why is she inside the pot?” she joked.
Explaining further, she said: “I need to wash the pot properly. After I finish cleaning and draining it, I’ll rinse it again, then use new mopsticks to clean it once more before cooking for you.”
Baci first captured global attention in May 2023 when she set a Guinness World Record with a 100-hour cooking marathon in Lagos.
