He spoke when he appeared on the "Your Aunties Could Never" podcast. According to him, he earned his breakthrough with the help of rapper, Olamide.

 

He narrated how he began his music career from school, which later led him to winning a car.

 

However, his breakthrough came after Olamide featured in his song, before Davido reposted his song.

 

The singer opened up further that after making it in the industry in his 20s, he decided to buy a mansion and move in with his father, mother and siblings. He added that that decision was a blessing to his career.
