Farotimi argued that he dislikes Wike's method of carrying out his job as a Minister but that his loyalty is always to the truth and the law.

Activist, Dele Farotimi has kicked against those supporting the Naval officer, Yerimi, who stood up against FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Recall that the incident happened over a disputed plot of land in the FCT on Tuesday, November 10.

In a post shared on X, Farotimi argued that some Nigerians may see Yerima’s ‘’regimented impunity'' as an ‘’antidote to Wike’s madness'' but that the question to be asked if he was acting based on an illegal order given to him or not. Recall that Wike had argued that his office had attempted to stop a building project on the disputed piece of land because the owners lacked the proper documentation.

The military officers however prevented him and his officials from stopping the ongoing building project because according to the soldiers, they were acting on ‘’order from above''.

Farotimi argued that he dislikes Wike's method of carrying out his job as a Minister but that his loyalty is always to the truth and the law.

‘’Have you wondered if the order Yerima is obeying is legal? If Yerima, Wike, and the officer who gave the order are subject to the rule of law, would the officer be able to order a NAVAL officer to secure a disputed plot of land? What is the role of the courts? I detest Wike’s methods, but my loyalty is to the law and the truth..''he wrote

He further stated that the soldiers who fired gunshot at the Lekki tollgate were also acting based on order from above alongside those who killed members of the Shiite group in December 2015. He said that may Nigerians not live to the day when an order will be granted for them to be un-alived.
