Former Super Eagles captain and ex-Juventus midfielder Sunday Oliseh has declared Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembele as the best footballer in the world right now, making the bold claim on his Sunday Oliseh Global Football Insights show.

Oliseh also offered a surprising take on Kylian Mbappe's high-profile departure from PSG to Real Madrid, arguing that the French superstar's exit actually did the Parisian club a favour rather than harming them.

He recalled that before Mbappe left, there were widespread reports that the striker wielded enormous influence over the club's affairs beyond his role on the pitch.

According to Oliseh, PSG has undergone a significant transformation since Mbappe's departure, with a new culture of accountability and hard work now defining the dressing room.

He pointed to comments from Dembele about players being required to work hard or risk being dropped as evidence of a more disciplined and merit-based environment at the club.

Oliseh argued that this shift in mentality reflects the broader evolution of modern football, noting that PSG has managed to reach the Champions League final with largely the same squad that has been together for the past two years a feat he attributed in large part to the positive changes in the club's culture following Mbappe's exit.
