Trump Turns Down Pardon Plea for Woman Accused of Killing Three Children

President Trump has declined a request to pardon Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts woman accused of k!lling her three children in 2023, saying the matter is a state issue beyond his reach.

Clancy's attorney Kevin Reddington appeared on national television last week asking the president for a pardon, though he acknowledged the request isn't technically possible since Clancy faces state charges, not federal ones.

Reddington later explained he was hoping to grab Trump's attention and prompt him to contact Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz, a fellow Republican.

When Trump was leaving Ireland on Sunday, reporters asked him about the pardon request.

He called it a sad situation with no winners, noting that three children are d£ad regardless of any outcome.

Trump said it's a state matter, not a federal one, and he has no authority.

Asked if he would reach out to Cruz, Trump said he appreciated that Reddington feels strongly about it and praised him as a good attorney, but said the matter was something for them to work out themselves.

Clancy's trial ended in a mistrial after a hung jury split 11-1.

Her defense argues she shouldn't be held criminally responsible because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis when the children d!ed.

The District Attorney hasn't yet decided whether to retry the case.

The next hearing is scheduled for September 29, and Reddington is asking for the charges to be dropped after speaking with jurors.
