A mosque committee in Bauchi has removed Imam Dahiru Abubakar from his job.

The committee says he kept using the mosque to back President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027.

Abubakar served at a mosque in Madina Quarters in Bauchi city.

Worshippers say he told people after prayers that Tinubu did not cause insecurity and should be given another term.

He was suspended after doing it again following the Subhi prayer on Sunday, and he has now been removed for good.

The imam admits he talked about the president in his sermons.

He said the hardship and insecurity in the country are a sign of the end times, and he asked people to stop blaming Tinubu.

The committee chairman, Jibrin, said Abubakar also tried to rename the mosque Masjid Imam Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The committee said no.

The mosque belongs to the community and will keep its old name.

Jibrin said politics should happen in party offices, not in the mosque.

He added that Abubakar will not be brought back.
