Customs officers have seized more than 38,000 litres of petrol in border towns across Adamawa State.
The fuel is worth about 63 million naira.
The Operation Whirlwind team announced the seizure at a press briefing in Yola.
Its national coordinator, Deputy Comptroller General Abubakar Aliyu, said the raid followed six weeks of work targeting petrol smugglers.
Officers recovered 1,548 jerrycans of petrol, each holding 25 litres.
A vehicle used to move the fuel was also seized.
The seizures happened at several border spots, including Malabu Belel, Girei Wuro Bokki, Gurin Fufore, Wuro Alhaji Maiha and Mubi Sahuda.
Aliyu said the operation will continue to stop fuel from being smuggled across the border.
He said this protects the economy and keeps people safe.
