PIMP: Woman arrested for selling her 13 year old niece into prostitution in Ondo state

A middle-aged woman who forced her 13 year old niece into prostitution has been nabbed by security forces.

A 32 year old woman named Susan John, has landed herself in wahala with the NSCDC over child trafficking allegations.

The woman reportedly tricked her 13 year old niece identified as Faith, into prostitution while she pockets the proceed.

John, who is also said to be a prostitute operates at a brothel called Royal Crown Hotel, on Car Street, Akure, the state capital.

She was said to have brought the girl from her hometown in Akwa Ibom State with the intention of giving her a job, only to force her into prostitution and collected any money the men who slept with the girl paid.

The NSCDC Public Relations Officer in the state, Kayode Balogun, explained that officials of the command raided the brothel following a tip-off from some residents living around the area, and arrested John and six other prostitutes.

He said officials of the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other Related Offences (NAPTIP), would conduct further investigation into the child and sex trafficking offences.

“The act is totally unacceptable and wrong for the society. We will hand the women over to NAPTIP for further questioning.”

Narrating her ordeal, the teenage victim said she was lured from her hometown in Akwa Ibom to Akure with the promise that she would work as a housemaid, but later discovered she had been recruited into a prostitute ring.

She explained that when she got to Akure, she was lodged in a brothel, where she was told that she was brought to become a prostitute.

“I arrived at Akure last week Tuesday for the job only to discover that it was a prostitute work that I was brought here to do.

I told her that I want to go back to my village as this was not the type of work she told me about, but she threatened me.

The woman collected the service money from me anytime I went to meet with a man. I have made up to N6,000 and slept with more than three men since last week.”
