Two Female Doctors Brutally Raped In Calabar

 

According to DailyTrust, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) has been experiencing security issues over time due to the size of the land the hospital occupies as well as the collapse of part of the perimeter fence. This has served as a loophole which unscrupulous individuals exploited to invade the hospital premises for obnoxious reasons according to Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Thomas Agan.

 

On a recent invasion, a group of armed robbers stormed the hospital and two female doctors were badly raped. This was confirmed in a public statement by the Chairman of Resident Doctors Association at the hospital, Dr Ikechukwu Ukweh.

 

It should be noted that two cars belonging to a doctor and a nurse were also stolen within the hospital premises of recent. The sick and helpless patients had to escape through the broken fences out of fear.

An appeal has been made to the Federal Government to come to the rescue of the hospital through the release of developmental funds.
