Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Raheem Sterling from Liverpool for a deal worth up to 49 million.
Liverpool forward, Raheem Sterling has completed his move to Manchester City today after agreeing a deal over the weekend in a 5-year contract worth £180,000 a week. Manuel Pellegrini says his club's £49million signing means they have captured one of the best attacking players in world football.
"Raheem Sterling is one of the best attacking players in world football, and I am very much looking forward to him joining our squad out in Australia later this week. He is a young player with outstanding ability, and I am sure the Manchester City fans will be very excited about seeing him in action for the team." Pellegrini said.
Sterling, whose Liverpool contract did not expire until 2017, has become the most expensive English player in history and the deal is the 7th most expensive transfer involving a British club.
