Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale Are Divorcing After 13 Years of Marriage

 

And another marriage bites the dust. After 13 years and 3 sons, Gwen Stefani has filed for divorce from husband Gavin Rossdale.

The couple's divorce came on the heels of denials some time last year that their marriage was not working and as recent as March, 2015 Gwen had sweet words to say about her hubby in Cosmopolitan's March issue:

"I never really saw myself landing a guy that hot. I don't know if I was a nerd in high school, but I definitely wasn't the super-cute cheerleader so I never saw myself getting somebody like that", she told the mag then.

But the cards crumbled for them recently when they confirmed that they are getting divorced. They released a joint statement that reads:

"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment. To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time".

Gwen, 45, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce and is seeking joint custody of the couple's three kids, Kingston (9), Zuma (6) Apollo (1), according to court documents.

Rossdale, 49, filed his response at the same time, and he's also asking for joint custody.

However, Gwen won't be asking for spousal support.

The pair met in the mid-90s and got married in September 2002.
