If new reports are to go by, there is the fear that an eminent politician from Lagos State may have also perished in the Hajj stampede that has killed over 700 people.
Hon. Adeola Maurufudeen Adefolabi
Contrary to the official report by the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board that no casualty was recorded among the pilgrims from the state in the stampede that occurred in Mina, Saudi Arabia, Classic International Magazine has gathered that one of the pilgrims from the state, Hon. Adeola Maurufudeen Adefolabi is still missing.
Hon. Adefolabi is a one time honourable member representing Ifako Ijaiye in the lower chamber of the National Assembly and former chairman of Ifako Ijaiye and Ojokoro Local Government Areas.
The magazine further learnt that Hon. Adefolabi was last communicated with before the unfortunate disaster that claimed hundreds of lives and all efforts made by family, friends and fellow pilgrims to locate the grass root political titan has proved abortive.
