The Philippines have confirmed their first case of Coronavirus.
A 38-year-old Chinese woman who arrived from Wuhan through Hong Kong on January 21 has been confirmed the first case of Coronavirus in Philippines.
The female patient was admitted into a government hospital on Jan. 25, Health Secretary Francisco Duque said in televised briefing. The patient is currently asymptomatic, he said.
Airports checks have been boosted in the Philippines and airlines have advised sick passengers to postpone travel as precautionary measures against coronavirus.
Confirmed cases of the coronavirus in China is now over 7,700, as the outbreak spread to India and the Philippines for the first time. Death toll rose to 170.
World Health Organization is gathering Thursday to consider issuing a health emergency as the disease is spreading across the globe.
