A young Nigerian man has been assaulted in public by a soldier who repeatedly slapped him while urging him to beg God.

A Nigerian soldier has been caught on tape assaulting an unnamed civilian by repeatedly slapping him as the man begged for mercy.

The video shot in Nigerian has left social media users shocked as they called for the arrest and prosecution of the soldier for unprofessional conduct.

The Nigerian Army is yet to react.
