As many as five persons have been killed in a clash between rival cult groups in Ondo State, Daily Post reports.
Among those killed in the clash that occurred in Igbokoda, headquarters of Ilaje Local Government Area of the state was a popular Disc Jockey in the locality, a tricycle rider, Idowu Agbude and one Asogbon Obayomi.
It was gathered that the clash began as a result of land dispute in the area which was said to have claimed over 20 lives since May this year.
According to a native of Igbokoda, Prince Emorioloye Owolemi, cultists in the area exploited the land dispute which he said has been in existence since 2012.
Owolemi maintained that since the crisis started, most residents of the community had living in fear over the unknown.
While disclosing that security agencies have been mobilised to restore normalcy to the community, the Chairman, Ilaje Local Government, Olamigoke Jatuwase, said had equally briefed the state government over the development.
When contacted, the Ondo Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Fumilayo Odunlami, said she was yet to be briefed on the situation.
