SP Benjamin Hundeyin
Spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin has stated that Nigerians have a right to make video recordings when they are stopped by police officers for a search, but wonder why they do it to "taunt, provoke or sometimes obstruct the officers carrying out their duties."
He said this while sharing a copy of the criminal act which states that assaulting a police officer or obstructing him while carrying out his duties is guilty of a felony and liable to three years imprisonment.
He urged Nigerians to make the video with decorum and not poke the phones in the officer's faces while running offensive commentaries.
