Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari-led government on the 6th of September met with the vice-chancellors, pro-chancellors, and management of federal universities over the lingering strike.
It has been revealed that the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the governing council of universities and Vice Chancellors have scheduled a meeting to discuss how to end the lingering strike.
Daily Sun reported that the meeting is expected to hold on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
The meeting comes after President Muhammadu Buhari-led government on the 6th of September met with the vice-chancellors, pro-chancellors, and management of federal universities over the lingering strike.
Recall also that after negotiation with ASUU failed, FG took the lecturers to the National Industrial Court sitting in Abuja to order them to call off the strike.
NIC adjourned the suit against the ASUU.
The Federal Government in its suit, asked the court to order ASUU to call off its seven months strike.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu was joined as a claimant in the matter with the President of ASUU, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, as sole defendant.
