A yet-to-be-identified car dealer has been killed in Rivers State.
The man was stabbed to death by some hoodlums along Ordinance Road, Trans-Amadi in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that the deceased was driving a Toyota Metrix car when four armed men in a vehicle overtook his vehicle and forced him to a stop.
Alighting from his vehicle, the attackers asked the deceased for his car key which he refused to surrender to them.
Suspecting that the hoodlums may be after his car, he threw the keys inside the automobile instead and grabbed one of the assailants.
“Last night at about 9 pm, a car dealer was driving a Toyota Metrix, maybe he was heading home before a Toyota Corolla double-crossed him.
“Four hefty guys came out of the vehicle. As the man turned off the car ignition and threw the keys inside the Toyota. They searched but couldn’t see the key, maybe they wanted to snatch his car.
“But the man grabbed one of them, hit him on the floor and in the process the other gang members came, descended on him and started stabbing him till he was unconscious.
“So they left him with his car, went into their own car and drove off. People rushed the man to the hospital, but on reaching the hospital he gave up the ghost,” the eyewitness said.
When contacted, the Rivers Police Command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident as well as the eyewitness account.
