2023 Elections: Peter Obi Reacts As NUC Orders Closure of Universities

 

Peter Obi, Labour Party presidential candidate has hailed the National Universities Commission, NUC, for ordering the closure of all universities and inter-university centres ahead of the 2023 general elections.

 

The NUC ordered the closure of universities between February 22nd and March 14 to enable students participate in the electoral process.

 

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, gave the directive following consultation with relevant security agencies.

 

Reacting, Obi on Twitter wrote, “I heartily welcome the decision of the National Universities Commission (NUC), to close universities ahead of the 2023 general elections.
