The statement directed all affected persons to return government property in their possession to the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Internationally Generated Revenue and Digital Transformation.
All revenue enforcers in markets in Abia State have been sacked.
Governor Alex Otti gave the order on Tuesday.
Otti, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Kasie Ukoh, said the decision was aimed at sanitizing systems of revenue collection in the transport sector and in the markets.
The statement directed all affected persons to return government property in their possession to the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Internationally Generated Revenue and Digital Transformation.
The statement further stated that the Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue would advise on the State government ‘s next plan in that direction.
In the last one week, the new government in Abia State has been going tough on revenue collectors and touts in the State, a development being supported by transporters and traders.
