She questioned why they are cursing Edochie for doing the same thing their own families have done.
Actress Yvonne Jegede has defended colleague, Yul Edochie's decision to take a second wife.
Her decision to defend Yul has earned her serious backlash on social media.
Jegede defended Yul in an interview on The Honest Bunch podcast.
She argued that Edochie has done nothing wrong, pointing out the hypocrisy of those who condemn him while praising Regina Daniels, who is also in a polygamous marriage.
Jegede noted that many of those criticising Edochie come from polygamous families themselves, with some even having parents who have multiple wives.
She questioned why they are cursing Edochie for doing the same thing their own families have done.
The actress said that people should stop being hypocritical on the internet and acknowledge that polygamy is a common practice, adding that she doesn’t see anything wrong with his actions.
“You see this Yul Edochie ehnnn, 99% of people abusing him are from second wives, third wives, fourth wives ahd fifth wives. Sometimes a wife that the family doesn’t know about.
”Let us stop being silly on the internet. I don’t see anything he has done wrong. I no dem go tear me to pieces when this interview gets uploaded. Why are you guys cursing him and making Regina Daniels your prayer point, only she fit advice you for marriage,” she said.
