Garba also suggested that the nation’s economy will continue to dwindle as long as politicians continue to make budgetary provisions from oil proceeds.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adamu Garba has warned that Nigeria will continue to experience fuel scarcity if the government and people continue to rely on the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, for its energy supply.

This is as the APC chieftain added that the nation’s economy will continue to dwindle as long as politicians continue to make budgetary provisions from oil proceeds.

He made the assertion in a post on his X handle on Sunday.

Garba said Nigeria should join the BRICS as it offers better for the future for the country’s stability and peace.

BRICS is an intergovernmental organization comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates.

He said: “As long as Nigeria continues to depend on NNPC for our energy supply, Nigeria will continue to face disappointment.

“As long as politicians continue to make budgetary provisions from the proceed of oil, our economy will continue to dwindle.
As long as our market continue to rely on dollar corridors, our scarcity will not cease.

“We have to make a fundamental change as a country. Fundamental change in our economic ideologies and foreign relationships. We cannot continue facing same issue will all administrations, from Obasanjo till now, following same food steps and still expect different results. We can’t continue to blame only the political leadership.

“The issue might not be solely on the leaders, but our fundamental internal and external structures. We must have to change and BRICS gives us an opportunity to pivot to a group of like minded countries who also needed change like us.

“The faster we join the BRICS, the better for the future of Nigeria’s stability and peace. We must inwardly protect the Naira, while outwardly negotiate with multipolar interests.May God see Nigeria through, always.”
