Brown Joel, the Nigerian singer, has clarified misconceptions about him and his collaborators on the hit song Ogechi, stating that they are not a group and should not be referred to as the “Ogechi boys.”
In a recent video, Brown Joel said: “We’re not a group. We’re friends and individual artists. There’s no contract binding us as a crew.”
He also made a subtle jab at streaming numbers, saying: “When you get to a concert, real humans will sing for you. Not digital numbers.”
Brown Joel described himself and his collaborators as independent acts, not tied to any formal collective.
