According to her, such celebrations are just another form of modern-day idolatry.
Evangelist and founder of Liberty Foundation Gospel Ministries, Apostle Helen Ukpabio has warned Christians against engaging in special day celebrations like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Children’s Day, and others.
According to her, such celebrations are just another form of modern-day idolatry.
She claimed such celebrates are rooted in paganism.
According to her, these seemingly harmless celebrations are subtly packaged forms of idol worship — a scheme she says the devil is using to get Christians to unknowingly honour ancient taboos.
“The Bible already warned us,” she said, referring to the book of Acts.
“These idols kept those days as taboo days. They didn’t go to the farm. They exchanged gifts and did all these rituals. That’s what you’re repeating today — just in another form.”
She went on to question the origin of such holidays:
“You keep saying Happy Mother’s Day, Happy Father’s Day… From what platform?”
“You owe your parents every day,” she insisted. “Not just one day.”
Ukpabio warned that indulging in these global celebrations could amount to idolatry in God’s eyes, and she reminded believers of the spiritual consequences:
“The Bible doesn’t want you to be an idolater. The penalty is grave.”
