The healing process as regards the National Assembly has started in APC as Senator Bukola Saraki seeks to make peace with the aggrieved national party leader of the All progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Senate President Bukola Saraki has been in the news of late following his controversial victory as the Senate President of the 8th Assembly of Nigeria. He reportedly turned down the palliative measures drawn by the leadership of the All Progressive Congress to pacify the aggrieved members of the party, which have called for his iminent expulsion from the party.

National Leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been at loggerheads with Saraki, but the former Governor of Kwara state has revealed his utmost respect for Tinubu who he will make peace with in the interest of the party as well as the nation despite not being on the same page with him.

Saraki told newsmen over the weeknd, “Regards to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; as you all know, he is one of the leaders of the party. I have great respect for him. We have worked closely together before.

"Unfortunately, my group did not agree with him on this issue,” he said. “However, we are both responsible and committed to the project of the party and Nigeria that we will overcome this and move forward. It is part of our plans, as part of the healing process, to meet with him and it will happen soon.”

Saraki noted that out of his respect for the party and President Muhammadu Buhari, he dropped his presidential ambition.

He also shockingly revealed how he abandoned his presidential ambition for the current President Muhammadu Buhari in the recently concluded general elecitions of March 2015.
