How I Battled Thyroid Problems While Shooting 'Real Housewives Of Lagos' – PR Expert, Mariam Trimmer Opens Up

Mariam Adeyemi Timmer, a prominent cast member of The Real Housewives of Lagos, has opened up about the challenges she faced while filming the show.

In an interview, she revealed how IVF treatment and a thyroid disorder affected her both physically and emotionally.

She said the health issues began during her fertility journey, and the stress from the process affected her mood throughout filming.

According to her, many people did not understand that her reactions on the show were connected to what she was dealing with behind the scenes.

Mariam also spoke about the confusion and frustration she felt when she discovered the thyroid problem, especially since she already had fibroids and made efforts to live a healthy lifestyle.

She said the combination of these challenges made the period very tough for her.

Before joining the reality series, Mariam studied political science, worked in PR and later became a mother.

She joined the show in the first season from episode four and said she only tried to be herself throughout her time on screen.

In another interview, she talked about the pressure many women face when dealing with fertility or health struggles.

She said she chose to speak up because many women keep quiet out of fear or cultural pressure, even though they go through similar experiences.

Mariam said she still hopes to have another child but is no longer putting herself under pressure.
