The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that the recently concluded election in the nation’s capital exposed what he described as the hypocrisy of politicians who purchase corn and groundnuts from roadside vendors as a campaign tactic to mislead Nigerians.
Wike made this statement on after meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Sunday.
He was reacting to the FCT polls, where he said that Nigerians now know the ruling party and the real opposition party.
The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, clinched five Area Councils while the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won only one Area Council.
Reacting, the Minister said: “This election has further exposed the hypocrisy of people who go about buying corn and groundnuts from roadside sellers for the purpose of a campaign just to deceive Nigerians.
“The residents of FCT demonstrated that they cannot be deceived by emergency democrats, who have chosen not to see anything good in our country and its government.”
