Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), on Saturday held a meeting with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku, one of the key leaders aspiring for the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential ticket for the 2027 election, made the meeting known to public via a post on his Facebook page.
Although details of the meeting are still sketchy, Atiku said they both had a robust discussion on the state of the nation.
“This evening, I received the former Governor of Kano State and the Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on a courtesy visit.
“We had a robust discussion on the state of the nation,” the former VP wrote.
Recall that ahead of the much anticipated 2027 election, opposition figures have been realigning to unseat President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Kwankwaso is rumoured to have been nursing plans to decamp to the ADC ahead of the primary election.
