Music executive Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has pushed back against allegations that his record label, Mavin Records, favors certain artists over others when it comes to promotion and opportunities.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Crea8torium podcast, the music producer argued that it would make no business sense for a record label to invest in an artist and then deliberately sideline them in favor of promoting another.

He maintained that artists within the Mavin fold who are less visible or releasing fewer songs are making those choices themselves, and that the label bears no responsibility for such decisions.

Don Jazzy also suggested that imposter syndrome and overthinking are at the root of the neglect allegations, noting that some artists tend to assume their colleagues are receiving preferential treatment when that is not the case.

He emphasized that Mavin Records invests in its artists with the expectation of mutual financial returns, making it illogical for the label to deliberately ignore any of them.

He clarified that any artist on the roster who wishes to release a high volume of music is free to do so, as the label would support it.

He acknowledged that feelings of self-doubt and anxiety are natural and human, but maintained that the notion of one artist being prioritized over another within Mavin Records simply does not reflect reality.
