Six cows that were discovered wandering through significant areas of Ibadan in defiance of the state's livestock control laws were seized by the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority (OYRLEA), which has stepped up its crackdown on open grazing.

The cows were apprehended during a routine monitoring operation along Old Ife Road, Alakia, and Elebu Idi Ahun in Ido Local Government Area, according to a statement released by the Authority's Chairperson, retired Justice Aderonke Aderemi.

The Authority claims that five cows were discovered grazing in the impacted areas in violation of Oyo State's open grazing and livestock management regulations.

The law enforcement squad seized the animals right away.

On the same day, authorities conducted a different operation in response to complaints of cattle wandering along Ibadan's popular Mokola expressway.

Three cows were seen on the road upon arrival, endangering both homeowners and drivers.

The statement said, "One cow was immediately impounded while the others fled."

The operation, according to OYRLEA, is a part of its continuous efforts to enforce livestock management laws, stop open grazing, and stop situations that can endanger public safety or disturb communal harmony.

The Authority reiterated its dedication to upholding environmental order, safeguarding locals, and guaranteeing complete adherence to Oyo State legislation.
