Ireland Opens Fully Funded Master’s Scholarship for Nigerians in 2026 Intake

An international scholarship opportunity is set to open soon, offering Nigerians a chance to study in Ireland on a fully funded programme.

The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has announced that applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme will open on June 29, giving Nigerians the opportunity to pursue a fully funded Master's degree in Ireland.

The embassy made this known via a post on its social media handle on Friday, stating that the programme is open to early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana seeking to undertake a one-year Master's degree at top Irish universities.

According to details released by the embassy, eligible applicants must be resident nationals of Nigeria or Ghana, hold at least a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower, and possess at least three years of relevant work experience.

For Nigerian applicants, the fellowship includes the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, which focuses on Master's programmes in Law, Human Rights, and Governance.

The scholarship covers tuition fees, monthly allowance, accommodation stipends, flight and visa costs, as well as health insurance.

Applications open on June 29, 2026, and close on July 26, 2026. Interested applicants are advised to submit their applications through the Ireland Fellows Programme website at https://irelandfellows.africa/
