Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, has appealed to eligible Nigerians who are yet to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so, urging citizens not to allow the outcome of the 2023 general elections to discourage them from participating in the country's democratic process.

In a video statement, Obi acknowledged that many Nigerians chose not to register after the events surrounding the 2023 elections, saying he understood their frustrations.

He said he was appealing to every eligible Nigerian who has not yet registered for a PVC to do so, adding that while he understood that some people had chosen not to register following what happened in 2023, and recognised that many had their reasons, he insisted that the country must not be given up on.

The former Anambra State governor stressed that every vote plays a vital role in determining Nigeria's future and called on citizens to remain engaged in the democratic process.

He urged Nigerians to rise above disappointment, register, collect their PVCs, and participate in building the Nigeria they all desire.

Obi's appeal comes amid renewed efforts by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to encourage eligible Nigerians to register and obtain their PVCs ahead of future elections.

His message underscores the importance of sustained civic participation despite political setbacks and public dissatisfaction with previous electoral processes.
