A man has been charged with murder and sexual @ssault following a fatal street stabbing in the UK. Emergency services were called to Yarm Lane in Stockton shortly before 10pm on July 1 after reports of an att@ck.
A 31-year-old man was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with serious injuries but d!ed a short time later.
Cleveland Police made an arrest the following day and have since charged Richard Shaw, from Stockton, with murder.
He has also been charged with sexual @ssault, possession of a bladed article in a public place, and assault by beating of an emergency worker.
Shaw has been remanded in custody and was due to appear before Teesside Magistrates' Court today, July 3.
Following the stabbing, nearby shops and buildings were cordoned off, with several officers present at the scene throughout the morning.
One 47-year-old resident, speaking to a local newspaper, remarked that crime was visible enough in the area without needing to watch television shows about it.
Police issued a further appeal for information, with the investigation ongoing.
Authorities are asking anyone with dashcam, CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
