Repeated b@ndit att@cks have forced residents to flee Tashar Mayanchi and more than 10 neighbouring communities in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, leaving many of the villages largely deserted.

The development was disclosed in a post shared on social media on Thursday by a security analyst identified as Bakatsine, who explained that the att@cks lasted four consecutive days, compelling residents to abandon their homes in search of safety.

According to him, more than 40 people remain in captivity following the att@cks.

He noted that the repeated b@ndit att@cks had forced residents to flee Tashar Mayanchi and over 10 surrounding communities in the area, leaving once-thriving villages largely empty.

He added that local sources indicate more than 40 people remain held captive after four consecutive days of violence, raising concerns that continued displacement could allow the perpetrators to threaten the Zamfara–Sokoto highway and further isolate affected communities.

He questioned how many more rural communities would need to be emptied before meaningful security intervention reaches the affected areas.
