The Kwara State Government has declared that 176 people who were kidnapped during the February 3, 2026 raid on the Woro and Nuku communities in the state's Kaiama Local Government Area have been liberated.

This was made public by the State Government on Wednesday through a post on its official Facebook site.

"Alihamdulillaah and congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, security forces, and all those involved in this tremendous achievement. "Thank you," the Facebook post said.

The victims were abducted after Boko Haram-affiliated extremists launched a concerted attack on the rural settlements of Woro and Nuku on motorcycles, allegedly lasting several hours.

Considered one of the bloodiest attacks in Kwara State's history, it is said to have killed over 200 people, injured a number of others, destroyed homes and businesses, and driven out a large number of locals.
