Prince Harry and Meghan Return to UK With Their Children

Prince Harry, Meghan and their two children have returned to the UK after living in California since 2020.

The family flew back privately from the United States and will base themselves at a private property in the Cotswolds area outside London.

The couple stepped back from royal duties in early 2020 and relocated to California in March that year.

This marks their first time living in Britain since then as non-working royals.

Their children Archie and Lilibet have been enrolled in school with the new term starting next week.

King Charles was informed of the move earlier this month.

The family visited him at his Highgrove home in July, but the relocation was not discussed at that time.

Before that visit, Harry and Meghan had not been in the UK together since attending Queen Elizabeth's funeral in 2022.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have also been told of their plans.

Security arrangements for the family in the UK remain unclear.

Last year, Prince Harry lost a legal challenge over his security entitlements after stopping royal duties and moving to the US.

The government's protective security committee will make decisions on their protection provisions, though it's uncertain who will fund their security and at what level.

Harry has previously said concerns about safety kept him from bringing his wife and children to the country.

Last month, he and six other public figures lost a privacy case against the Daily Mail publisher and face paying up to £34.5 million in legal costs.
