Peter Obi Issues Strong Warning Ahead of 2027 Election

The Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has vowed that every Nigerian vote will be respected and counted in the 2027 elections, calling out what he describes as political arrogance and intimidation from sitting governors and government appointees.

Speaking at a town hall gathering in Rivers State, Obi criticised the approach some candidates are taking by outsourcing their campaigns and political activities to others instead of engaging directly with voters themselves.

He expressed frustration with the current political climate, where some leaders are issuing commands that they must win at all costs and threatening those who disagree with them.

Obi insisted the pattern of intimidation and manipulation must stop.

He declared that votes must count this time around, and warned that anyone attempting to subvert the electoral process will themselves be held accountable for their actions.

He stressed that Nigerians have heard enough of these threats and the disrespect being shown to democratic principles.

Rather than outsourcing leadership, Obi argued that anyone seeking political office must come directly to the people and make their case.

He announced that he and fellow candidate Kwankwaso plan to do exactly that, engaging communities face-to-face.

Leadership cannot be delegated or outsourced, he explained.

Those who want to lead must be willing to answer to the people they claim to serve.

Obi committed to a rigorous schedule of direct communication with Nigerians, pledging to speak to voters regularly daily, weekly and monthly as he positions himself as their chief servant rather than their ruler.
