Sowore Says Nigeria Could Make Billions From Cannabis Beyond Smoking

Presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has argued that Nigeria should explore the medicinal and economic benefits of c@nnabis, saying the plant has far more uses than just sm%king.

Speaking on a podcast, Sowore explained that c@nnabis contains THC, which is the ingredient that makes people high.

But he stressed that the plant can be consumed in many different ways.

You can sm%ke it if you want it to work faster, but you can also eat it mixed into food like brownies or cook it into meals.

Sowore made clear he's not a personal user of the plant himself, but he pointed out that c@nnabis has numerous industrial applications that most people don't know about.

The stem of the plant can be used to make clothing, and it's been discovered that c@nnabis fibre makes excellent building blocks for houses.

In fact, homes constructed with c@nnabis fibre require less air conditioning because the material helps regulate temperature naturally.

Beyond industrial uses, Sowore highlighted the medicinal value.

C@nnabis is a medicine, he said, and Nigeria should be exporting it and earning money from it rather than ignoring the plant's potential.

He pointed to Canada as proof that legalisation works economically.

When Canada legalized c@nnabis around 2018, most countries weren't even considering it.

Now Canada makes about four billion dollars every year from the c@nnabis industry.

That's the kind of revenue Nigeria could be generating if it took a similar approach.
