Anthony Joshua Crash Driver Heads Back to Court in November

The driver accused of causing the crash that injured Anthony Joshua and claimed the lives of two members of his team is set to continue his court battle in November.

A driver involved in a car crash that inj@red former heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua and k!lled two members of his team will return to court in November for his trial to continue.

Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, is facing charges of dangerous driving causing d£ath, reckless driving, driving without proper care, and driving without a valid licence.

He has denied all the charges.

The crash happened on December 29, 2025, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Sagamu when Joshua and his team were travelling to visit his father in Ogun State.

Prosecutors say Kayode was trying to overtake another vehicle when his Lexus SUV collided with a stationary truck.

Two people d!ed in the crash Joshua's personal trainer and his strength and conditioning coach.

Both had worked with Joshua for many years and were considered close friends.

Joshua survived but was inj@red and spent time in hospital before being discharged to recover at home.

The case has drawn attention in Nigeria and around the world because of who was involved.

Joshua is a well-known figure in boxing, and the loss of his longtime team members shocked many.

Court proceedings that were scheduled for Thursday were pushed back to November 17

. Kayode was granted bail of 5 million naira with two sureties when he first appeared in court in January.

Road safety investigators found that the SUV was likely travelling faster than the speed limit and lost control while attempting to overtake before hitting the truck.
