A religious leader has accused Nigerian bishops of endorsing President Tinubu for a second term because they want money and favours, not because they believe in him.

Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church said the bishops made their endorsement out of selfish interest and hunger, not because God told them to.

He warned the president not to get excited about the support, calling it fake and meaningless.

According to Ayodele, these bishops are just looking for their next meal.

They don't actually love Tinubu or support him genuinely they're banking on getting something from him in return.

He said it's a bad thing that bishops are willing to use God's name for food and personal gain.

The religious leader also lumped politicians who are endorsing the president into the same category as the bishops.

He said they're doing the same thing seeking selfish benefits and positions.

If Tinubu doesn't give them what they want, they'll turn around and support someone else, Ayodele warned.

He advised the president not to rely on these endorsements for re-election.

What will actually determine whether Tinubu gets a second term is how well he performs for Nigerians.

Endorsements mean nothing, Ayodele said.

The president needs to focus on fixing problems and delivering results instead of letting all this praise go to his head.
