A British tourist has died while swimming at Crystal Bay Beach near Bali, just one day after another visitor fell to their death on the same island.

The 54-year-old man drowned on Sunday afternoon while on holiday with his family.

They were visiting Nusa Penida island and decided to stop for a swim at the beach around 2:30pm.

Their driver left them there and planned to return about an hour later.

When the man didn't show up at the meeting point, the driver went looking for the group and learned what had happened.

Emergency responders brought him to a nearby medical clinic, but doctors were unable to save him.

Medical staff said fluid had entered his lungs, causing his heart to stop as a result of the drowning.

It's unclear what led to him drowning in the sea.

His d€ath came just a day after an Australian tourist, Brianna Cronin, 29, d!ed after falling from a cliff at Kelingking Beach on the same island.

The ecologist from Queensland was found at the bottom of a steep drop early Saturday morning.

She had been trying to find an independent path toward the cliff edge when she slipped and fell into the ravine.

Emergency services found her with multiple injuries, and she fell further as they were evacuating her, plummeting to her d€ath around 9am local time.

Kelingking Beach, also known as T-Rex Bay, is a major tourist attraction offering sweeping views from a 180-metre-high coastal cliff.
