Newlywed Bride Found Dead Days After Tragic Venice Boat Crash

A newlywed bride has been found d£ad three days after a boat crash on a Venice canal.

Her husband, who was also in the boat, p@ssed away in hospital after falling into a coma.

Gabriella Querino, 26, a Brazilian national, and her husband Sean Michieli, 25, a clam fisherman, were travelling in his small boat on Saturday morning when it collided with a five-tonne water taxi and sank.

Sean was pulled from the water in critical condition and rushed to hospital but d!ed shortly after, despite efforts by medical staff.

Gabriella's body was discovered around 9am on Tuesday near Campalto Island after police, firefighters and divers spent the weekend searching for her.

Poor visibility and strong currents made the search difficult.

The couple had just left Burano island to find bait for Sean's fishing work when they crashed off the island of Tessera near Venice airport.

The water taxi driver told investigators he didn't see their boat before the collision.

Gabriella and Sean had been married for just three months after meeting in Venice.

She had moved to Italy two years ago and was working on getting her own fishing licence like her husband. Her mother said she was building a happy life there.

This is the second tragedy for the Michieli family in these waters. In 2007, Sean's uncle d!ed in a crash between his small boat and a fuel barge in the same area.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
