Davido Takes Home Album of the Year at 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards

Davido has won Album of the Year at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards with his latest project, 5IVE.

The award was announced on Tuesday following the ceremony held on September 12 in Dallas, Texas.

Davido came into the event as the most nominated artiste of the year with five nominations across major categories.

His album 5IVE beat out strong competition from Burna Boy's No Sign of Weakness, Asake's M$NEY, Omah Lay's Clarity of Mind, Black Sherif's Top of The Morning Era, Tyla's A-Pop, Lloyiso's Never Thought I Could, Leigh-Anne's My Ego Told Me To and Himra's SORRY I'M BAD.

Beyond the album win, Davido was also nominated for Artist of the Year, Best Male West Africa and the Crossing Boundaries With Music Award.

This victory adds to the major achievements Davido has reached in 2026 and places him among the top winners from this year's ceremony.

The award highlights the growing international recognition of African music, with artistes from West Africa, South Africa, the UK and the diaspora all represented across the major categories.
